Blue

This is Blue. He was born on January 13, 2001. He is a wonderful, obedient pup. Puppy teething is still a challenge, but he's getting better. He loves to chase and retrieve tennis balls, and loves the frisbee, but hasn't figured out how to catch it in the air yet. He goes bass fishing, and loves fishing in the Gulf too. He lives in Florida and tolerates the heat well. His owners never had an ACD before, but are so impressed with his ability to learn commands quickly. He learned to sit, lie down and speak on command within 2 days, when he was 9 weeks old. What a joyful addition to the family.

Cooper

The top picture is of Cooper at 5 months with big sis Tammy Faye (named after Tammy Faye Baker because she cried alot when she was a baby!) Cooper is owned by Pam and John of Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on June 18, 1998. He has suceeded in digging the soaker hose out of the ground and destroying flower pots! He also loves to chase our cat "Tux", and make him hissssssss! He loves to go to the park and growl and nip at ALL other dogs! Mostly he is very sweet and loves attention.
Culo!
Culo

Culo is my ACD and is just 18 months old. He is truely relentless! I guess thats why he's also my best friend. He likes spending time in the woods and the on the beaches of Coos County, Oregon where we live. Culo never ripped up the house and is just the most wonderful companion. He can play for hours at time. I should tell you that all my dogs have earned their names. Culo's name is Spanish and means ass. But we love him all the more because he is!

Heelie

Here are my two ornery and adoring Kelpie/ Heelers Chigger (red) and Heelie (blue). I adopted them at 8 weeks old. I was only going to get one, but that only left one pup, so I had to get her as well. I am glad I did! With the energy and spunk they have, if they weren't keeping each other company, I was in for a workout! Chigger I believe was the runt of the litter and submissive! Now after 8 months she is the one that loves to learn and be the first in everything, although she still sucks on her blanky to go to sleep! Heelie is my protector, my bud! She is always by my side. She knows when things are good and bad. She always has a way to distract me and make me smile! She hates it when I am on the computer though, she nuggies me until I get up. I love ACDs! I was at the Pound the other day and there were three ACDs for adoption. However the Pound kills and there is no one around with a no kill shelter! WHY? I wish I had what it takes to start a rescue here! If you don't have an ACD, please adopt one, you won't be disappointed!

ACD lover in Wyoming!

Kelly, My Heeler And Companion

Kelly is one of the best companions I have ever had. She was given to me by my brother. She sports a bobbed tail, which she already had once I got her. She is very aggressive and active, luckily we live on a large plot of land. She loves to swim, and destroy things :-( Along with a couple of other animals she usually has most of my attention. She loves to play with my mothers 3 year old Chihuahua. All in all, she is the most rugged and aggressive dog i've owned.

Nico & Helene

Hi! My name is Helene Nowak and am one of the few people on the planet that doesn't own a computer! I am writing to you from a friend's email. I picked your web-site out during my lunch break at work and it had me in tears.

Your story, like mine, has a lot in common. I had a Queensland named Nico for 11 1/2 years. He was my baby and the circumstances are quite unique. He was diagnosed in 1998 with Spodalosis, which basically means that he didn't have any cartilage between vertebras. He was on medication for that. Then in '01 I was given severance from a job I had 1 week short of 18 years. That was in April 01 and in May 01 Nico suddenly began bleeding from his nose. Needless to say, I majorally panicked and took him to the vet. All the tests they ran on him came back negative and the x-rays taken showed something but the vet never confirmed it was cancer. Over the next several months, it became harder for Nico to breathe and the pressure was so bad that he would crawl into a corner and have one eye shut. He had two more bloody noses and I actually took him into the vet to let him go 3 weeks prior to me finically letting him go. The vet wanted to try all sorts of allergy medicines on him. He was sneezing and that is what they thought it was. I had just started a new job and came home on Saturday nignt and got a few hours of sleep. When I got up, I looked at him and he looked back as if to say: "Mom-please let me go!" I made the appointment and zombie like, took him in again to let him go. The dog that hated to go to the vet was now dragging me in. On September 23, 200I I finally let my sweet baby go and went home to an empty house. This was the worst week and a half of my life.

It was way too quiet in my house and I knew I wanted another Queensland. The only catch is that it had to be the right Queensland. On October 3,2001 I visited a Queensland rescue group to check out a 2 year old named Drake. The rescue group stated that many had come out to see Drake but nobody ended up taking him home. As soon as I heard that, I knew Drake was waiting for me. I went out to see him and was in their back yard when they let him out of the house. I dropped to my knees and he came over and put his front paws in my lap. The rescue house mom stated that he had never done that do any other person that came out to see him. You, see, I knew he was mine since he had been at the rescue group for 3 weeks and it took me 3 weeks to let Nico go.

This is probably the longest E-mail you have gotten but I couldn't help to think out of all websites to choose from, I picked yours to read. Also, your story about adopting Roo touched my heart. How many people would adopt a 6-8 year old that needs hip surgery-you have a good heart! As I said before, I am e-mailing this from a friend's house. Hope to hear from you soon and like you, will always own a Queensland or is it them that own us?

Take care,
Helene

Ruby

Here's Jim and Ruby up on the wood pile, she loves to climb!! She had gone up there by herself, but then, of course, when I went to get the camera, she wouldn't go back up there herself, so Jim had to go with her!!

Here's Ruby on the deck, she's a real sweetheart! She loves being around poeple all the time and would be happy just climbing up on our laps!!!

Here's Otis after taking a dip in the creek!! This is the first place he goes when he gets out of his kennel, he is quite the guy, he loves racing all around the yard and getting into any kind of mischief!!

Here's some pics of my cattlekids. I wasn't sure which one you would want to put on the net, probably the one with both of them together, but I'm so proud of both of them, that I'm sending you more pics!! You can sure tell that I'm not a bit prejudiced about them...huh? These are the greatest dogs ever, but then, you already know this!! Hope you like the pics I'm sending you!! Laura.
Ruby and Otis live in Northern Minnesota, about 20 miles north of Duluth right on Lake Superior. Ruby was born July of 96, and Otis Nov of 96. Both are great cattlekids and love to play fetch, go for rides, swimming, and of course love to give lots of puppy hugs and kisses! They have great outside kennels that keep them protected from the sun, wind and rain. These cattlekids are the greatest!!
Sheila
Sheila

Dearest Gizmo & Shadowdog:

My name is Sheila, and I am a Cattle Dog mix who was rescued from a wonderful adoption organization called Greener Pastures Rescue in Tallahassee, FL. My owners Saskia and Michael found me during an Adopt-a-Thon, and despite being a shy, scared dog they opened their hearts to me and I thank them. I thought I would send you my picture because most people find me odd looking - I think it's my coloring. When we go to the dog park, I hear whispers all over, people calling me "Wild Dog" or "Hyena". I don't know exactly why they are scared of me, I love anyone if they will just throw a ball for me. Despite people's reactions, I have a lot of friends, including my boyfriend next door - a Golden Retriever named Abaco. He's the perfect playmate - I can herd him around the yard and he just loves it! Anyhow, I hope you both are doing well and compliments on the web site. It's very nice. Enjoy my picture as I enjoyed seeing yours!
Sincerely,

Sheila
Star & Shadow
Star & Shadow

Star (the Red) and Shadow (the Blue) visit Santa! Of course, we know they've been GOOD all year, don't we?

STAR is 5 years old now. She's the BOSS of the two and she tells SHADOW (our blue heeler-3 years old) how to act. Shadow came from the County Animal Control. He was found out running in the wheat fields west and south of our place. I don't know what made me stop there that day, but I felt that I needed to just "look at the dogs for adoption." I had recently lost my 13 year old Australian Shepherd from complications of diabetes and I was thinking of a "companion" for Star (who was very sad without Speckles). Anyway, I adopted Shadow from the shelter - he was very thin and very depressed (as you might imagine). We took him home and made him part of our family. Now he is my constant companion. He is an excellent watch dog and takes care of the sentry duty on our property while Star is in charge of the inside of the house.

Tilly the Wonder Dingo

Tilly is quite the dingo. Her mom is a blue dog named Maggie. She was born in Sanger, CA, USA on May 7th 1995. Her owner, Eric Ott, has worked with her and they are best friends. She not only swims in the pool, but she uses the diving board to show off. At dinner time she had her place at the table and she has the best table manners of anyone. She likes dressing up, and her favorite color is yellow.
